POP EVIL Films 'Torn To Pieces' Video

Grand Rapids, Michigan hard rockers POP EVIL have filmed a music video for their current single, "Torn To Pieces". Helmed by veteran Swedish director Johan Carlén, this will be the band's fourth video installment from their highly successful "Onyx" LP.

Says POP EVIL frontman Leigh Kakaty: "There's nothing more haunting and torturous to the human soul than the feeling of losing someone close to you without saying goodbye."

The band launched a social media initiative using Instagram late last week surrounding "Torn To Pieces". Since the song deals with the loss of Kakaty's father, fans are encouraged to upload their own photos depicting what the song means to them. Fans have been tagging Instagram photos with #petorntopieces since its launch and the collection is ever growing. The band is overwhelmed with its success and encourage fans to visit their official site and keep it up.

POP EVIL is on its way to a yet another chart-topping single with "Torn To Pieces". The song has gone from being No. 1 most added to No. 13 on the Active Rock chart in just 5 weeks. The band has already seen a career-shattering two No. 1 singles off of its latest LP, most recently with "Deal With The Devil" and first with "Trenches".

As can be expected from these veteran road dogs, POP EVIL just wrapped up an intense run with STONE SOUR and headed over to Europe for its first full run off U.S. soil with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH.

"Onyx" was released on May 14, 2013.

Asked if "Onyx" is a continuation or progression from the previous record, Kakaty told Metalholic: "To me personally, it's a progression in the fact that it totally destroys the previous two records.

"For the first time in years, this feels like a rock band. Before it was, we did the independent thing, then we got a record deal and we signed and we had to remix and remaster. Then 'War Of Angels' was really our first time that we got to record with an 'A'-list producer, and then we left the record deal. So there's always turmoil.

"All of our records, ironically, have succeeded, though they never were really released properly. There's always some obstacle that held the album back. The label wasn't on the same page or we were leaving the label. There was always just so much drama that was involved. Now for the first time at eOne, our new label, it's all full guns-a-blazing and everyone's believing in this music. Everyone's excited about the album. And most important, in the band we're all really excited about each other. We all understand our roles and we're not fighting each other internally. Everyone's very supportive of each other."
